Ecclesiastes 3:1, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens..”
Seasons are a funny thing. When you’re in them they are your “right now” and you can’t really see beyond them but as you look back over your life you can see how they seamlessly end and begin all purposed and intertwined for your good. Not all seasons feel good and some we wish we could do over, change or eliminate altogether. Seasons aren’t meant to last forever but they are all meant to better you, make you stronger and grow you to be more like Christ.
In my life I can look back on seasons of sickness, prosperity, lack, hurt and victory and I’m sure you can do the same. Some of these seasons I handled well and some not so much. Some I remember with great joy and some still make my heart ache but in all of them I grew closer to God and His plans for me, my family and my life.
Today marks a new season for me and my family. Yesterday I was flooded with tears of joy, gratitude, excitement and thankfulness as I said goodbyes and received well wishes. Today as I think back over the last season I remember laughing, crying, joy, pain and so many more emotions. Most of all I am thankful…thankful of where I am, where I have been and where God is taking me.
I’ve learned in ALL seasons we need to be thankful, we need to praise God in ALL situations and take in every single moment because what God is doing in you now is necessary for what He is going to do next. Some times our “now” isn’t glamorous, it’s hard or painful…but we can’t skip over the “now” because if we don’t grow where we are right now, we can’t get to what’s next. Everything in our lives builds on the other and each experience grows from the previous so we need to take every season for what it is…PREPARATION. Preparation for what God is doing in you and what He wants to do through you. His concern is your character and your heart so everything He allows you to go through is to strengthen both. Lean in to what God is doing, where He has you and where He is taking you.
James 1:4, “Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
We have to allow God’s work IN us so that He can do His work THROUGH us. We need to be made complete and only God can do that.
Embrace the season you’re in, allow God’s work to be done and don’t grow weary. He knows what He is doing and He knows what you need. Trust Him in all things and in all seasons. Learn to look for God and His purpose in everything so that you can fully receive from Him what you need to enter healthy into the next season. To God be be the glory…

Great post Erin. Currently, I’m in a season that is very trying and hard to endure. Having said that, I have most definitely grown closer to God and know that He is doing things in me that are necessary to move to the next chapter and carry out God’s plan for my family and I. The James 1:4 verse really speaks to me. Despite how hard it may be, you must persevere to grow yourself and become complete. Praying for you and your family in this exciting next chapter of your life!

I am thankful for the season of having you as a leader in my life. When you go throught your seasons of any kind with the mind set of pleasing our Savior the answers of prayers are revelead. they no necesarily have to be our own. You may never know the extension of answered prayer every time you couragously faced and acepted God’s transitions in life. You have so much to give and so much knowledge to share. You will still continue leading me from wherever you’ll be. Honor and glory to God for blessing my season with your existence. Blessings!
