Autumn is Among Us…

I love Fall…I love the colors, I love the weather and I LOVE the boots and scarves ūüôā But I don’t love the barometric pressure changes, mold and icky stuff in the air that causes sinus headaches. A change in weather seasons allows old things to die off and new things to be birthed but the changes also¬†cause physical pain; headaches, sinus pressure, etc. You know, seasons in our own life are not that different.

New seasons mean a falling away of some things and a new birth of others and often it includes pain and stages of being uncomfortable. I’ve come to realize that without the changes in seasons things become stale and stagnant. I believe God’s desire for us is to always be moving…progressing towards what it is He has created us to do. So without season changes we get stuck, or worse…comfortable. Comfort is good, in a sense, but it can’t be where we always live. Being in a constant state of comfort likely means you aren’t being stretched. Stretching leads to strengthening and growing¬†and as it’s been¬†said, “If you’re not growing you’re dying.”

I was just telling someone yesterday that I love the season our family is in right now. It has caused us to put a deeper dependency on God drawing us closer to Him and closer to each other. I was reminded on my TimeHop app (I LOVE THAT APP!) that three years ago I was in a small village in the bush of Africa where God deposited a large dream in my heart. He changed my life on that trip and what I am experiencing now was a¬†very vivid part of that dream. So I know…in every season, He is working, in every day He has purpose, in every location He is present.¬†He is allowing some things in and around me to fall away and is birthing new things both in and around me. It’s sad to see some things go, it’s exciting anticipating what is to come but more than anything I love the¬†peace and comfort knowing that God holds it all.

No matter what season you’re in remember that God is there, your ever present help. He sees you, He hears you and what He’s planted deep within you IS¬†coming forth. Those seeds that were deposited over the years, He’s harvesting those and when they manifest in the natural, it’s going to be more and better than you ever thought!!

Galatians 6:9, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
